In a time of clergy transition, West Denmark has developed and is successfully using a team ministry model for worship services and administration of parish programs. It was launched in October 2024 by the congregation council with concurrence and assistance from the Synod.
Three members of the congregation have primary responsibility (both paid and non-stipendiary) for providing pastoral care, leading worship services and managing the administrative affairs of the congregation. Three talented musicians (a concert pianist, a master organist, and a renowned, university-level choral director) lead a robust music program. In addition, we are blessed with energetic lay leadership and a wealth of willing and talented volunteers.
This model of team ministry has reinvigorated our congregation, attracted new visitors to worship, and has led to growth of membership.
