An Invitation to Holy Week and Easter 2026
Dear Friend,
Hold on, here comes the dawn!
We want to personally invite you to journey with us through the experiences of Holy Week. This is the most sacred time in our Christian faith, as we walk with Jesus in joy, in teaching, in agony and then, again, in joy. It’s really about learning to be like Christ—not just in the good times, but also in the midst of betrayal and pain. It’s about learning to hold on until the dawn comes.
Palm Sunday
We will begin our week together with a special worship service featuring our children’s choir and a beautiful palm procession that will set the tone for our journey through Holy Week.
Maundy Thursday
We gather for worship and communion, honoring the Last Supper and the meaning of service and sacrifice. And, join us at 6:00 p.m. for Middle Eastern dinner, to experience some of the actual tastes our Lord and his disciples might have experienced. Hold on.
Good Friday
We gather for a poignant and solemn service marking Christ’s passion and death on the cross. We will experience a dramatic readers theater and the veiling of the cross. There will be sacred congregational hymns and a Good Friday choral piece by the West Denmark Choir. Hold on.
Easter
Our celebration culminates on Easter morning with a joyous resurrection service. Join us for celebratory hymn singing, a choral anthem, and Holy Communion. Following the service there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children, followed by a delicious Easter brunch in the Parish Hall, where we can all share in joy and fellowship. The dawn has come.
May you find blessings in every moment,
The Rev. Shawn Mai
Interim Pastor
