Fundraising Tithe Goes to Loaves and Fishes
Every year, West Denmark gives 10% of funds raised at our hospitality events to a local nonptofit organization. This year’s donation has been given to the local Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. Details are in the April issue of the West Denmark
Newsletter, along with a column from our interim pastor (“The Ministry of Pie”), an Easter message from the Bishop and the mystery of the safe deposit box resolved.
Lenten Service Videos Available
This year’s midweek Lenten services successfully concluded on March 25. The evenings included a simple soup supper and worship service. Following a traditional liturgy for Ash Wednesday on February 18, a special, themed series of services followed the next five weeks entitled “In Times Like These … We are Bold to Pray.” The services included reflections on the petitions of the Lord’s Prayer offered by lay members of the congregation. It was a journey into rediscovering a framework for a life of faith and service.
The presenters were: Terra Lumley, Henrik Strandskov, Greg Marsten, Christy Wetzig, Barb Kass, Al Zook, Jenni Tretsven, and Mike Miles.
