Standing in the legacy of N.F.S. Grundtvig, a 19th century pastor, theologian, hymn writer, politician and social innovator, West Denmark blends traditional liturgy with a deep appreciation  of the natural world and concern for social justice.

Our worship style and space reflect those values. Clear glass windows overlook the wooded shores of Little Butternut Lake opening worshipers to God’s revelation in the world. They speak to our openness to new ideas, to new people and the gifts new people bring.

Our liturgical worship reflects this – new hymns mix with old, the ancient words of worship are sung even as we explore new inspirations and new ways of hearing and experiencing Christ’s advent among us.

We welcome all to our worship services: Whether you’re actively seeking a church to join or just want to visit for a look-see, you’re sure to encounter friendly faces and a good cup of coffee!

Special Lenten Services

During Lent we gather for our regular Sunday service at 10am. In addition, we will gather each Wednesday evening for an informal soup supper followed by a worship service.

Supper – 6pm

Worship – 7pm

Our Sunday services

We are in a state of transition. In 2024 our pastor of many years, Linda Rozumalski, retired. We miss her, but we press on.

While we search for a new settled pastor, our church thrives under the leadership of church members. Sunday services are led by our Interim Pastor, Shawn Mai, and our Interim Parish Associate, Christy Wetzig. Christy often preaches the sermon, but other members of the congregation also preach occasionally.

What are our services like? Of course, the best way to find out is to visit us on Sunday morning at 10:00.

Another way to see what we’re all about is to read the Sunday bulletin and/or read a sermon or two. You’ll find recent examples of each below. (Sorry, we don’t have video or sound recordings available at this time.)
