Harvest Song
Hi! Come and sing, for the harvest is over,
Fields are mowed, the grain is stored, and straw is in the stack.
Haymow is bursting with sweet scented clover;
Trees are shaken, apples picked, the wagon’s heading back.
We shall rejoice tonight knowing that when it’s light,
birds and beasts and poorer folk may take what is their right.
Hi! Bring the sheaves to be made into garlands,
Bring the leaves, the roses pink and daisies white and blue.
Our threshing floor, true to custom in our land
Shall be decked with all the season’s beauty, good and true.
Children already prance! Girls are waiting for the chance!
Ends the festive evening in a joyous harvest dance!

I love Molly’s image of saving seeds as saving stories.
I think that this online version of Harvest Fest is a definite winner but sure look forward to meeting in person again. I’ll let Jay know that his image was a winner, arrangement done by him and daughter, Adina, who took the photo. What an honor! Thanks to everyone for delighting all of us with the photo/recipe submissions. Enjoy your coffee!!!

Thank you Molly and Chris, Harry and Chris for bringing a little bit of “normal” to today. It was almost like being at Harvest Fest! Ronnie and I truly appreciate all that you do, and are grateful to all those that contributed to today’s festivities. Try to imagine the two of us, with big smiles on our faces as we listened to the program. Sure can’t wait til we can get together in person to share in praise and song, but until then, please stay safe everyone!
